(Janesville, WI) - John Deere signed a 237,500 SF lease at 2929 Venture Drive to expand its distribution footprint in the City. With this expansion, John Deere will now occupy nearly three-quarters of a million SF in the City's Beloit Avenue Industrial Corridor. Originally constructed for and occupied by an automotive supplier, 2929 Venture Drive has been transformed from a single-purpose 706,800 SF building into a flexible / functional multi-tenant complex. This transformation was facilitated by $2.5 Million worth of interior renovations that began in YR 2009.

JANESVILLE — A manufacturer/distributor of engines and power generation systems plans to open a warehouse in Janesville that would add up to 30 jobs to the local economy. The city council is expected to act Monday on a Tax Increment Finance agreement with the Indiana-based Cummins, Inc. Cummins plans to lease 187,500 square feet in a facility built and owned by local developer Jeffrey Helgesen and the Helgesen Family Limited Partnership on the city’s south side.

How about hundreds of thousands of dollars in tax incentives that most places in Wisconsin can’t offer? That’s no pipedream. The Legislature’s Joint Finance Committee on Thursday approved a provision in the state budget that would create a Development Opportunity Zone in Janesville. The zone comes with $5 million in tax incentives available over the next five years.
